CJSC Stroytransgaz Wins Two Gazprom Contracts in Tomsk and Kemerovo Regions

July 15, 2012

CJSC Stroytransgaz was awarded two general contractor contracts by the Gazprom Group in the Tomsk and Kemerovo Regions. The first project is to rebuild a section of the Parabel-Kuzbass gas pipeline (that supplies gas to the largest consumers of Novokuznetsk, namely Evraz and the Kuzbassenergo thermal power plant). The second project is the reconstruction of the Alexandrovskaya Compressor Station on the Parabel-Kuzbass pipeline located in the Tomsk Region.

The contracts were awarded at an open tender on July 5. The Tender Commission concluded that Stroytransgaz put forward the best proposals. Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk will be the customer under the contract.

The first contract includes the reconstruction of a 142 km section of the pipeline, a fifth of it. A new section will be built in three stages and the existing structures will be dismantled. The gas pipeline crosses swampy areas, the Karakan Ridge and several rivers (the project includes underwater crossings of the Stepnoy Urop and Chernovoy Urop Rivers). The construction timeline is 2012-2014

Under the second contract, Stroytransgaz will build a new gas treatment unit and a new compressor shop at the compressor station. Existing structures and equipment will be dismantled. The construction is to be completed in Q4 2013.

The project’s objective is to make the facility safer and more energy efficient, reduce process gas losses and enhance the Parabel-Kuzbass pipeline capacity.
